The Carson Valley Inn is serving a Free Spaghetti Lunch for all Veterans and Active Military – plus one guest – on Veteran's Day, Wednesday, November 11. The event will be held in the Valley Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans and active military personnel simply present your military ID for entrance, and lunch for you and your guest is on the Carson Valley Inn! Don't have your ID? Tell us about your service to our country and we'll welcome you anyway!
At 11 a.m. there will be a Veteran's Day colors presentation by the Color Guard from the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, the National Anthem will be sung by Melissa Dru and an invocation will be given by Fr. Doroteo Rojas-Serrano of St. Gall’s Church in Gardnerville. The free spaghetti lunch includes fresh tossed salad with choice of ranch, Italian or thousand island dressings; spaghetti with choice of marinara sauce or Bolognese (meat sauce); garlic bread and assorted cookies.
This is the fifth year for the Carson Valley Inn's free Veterans Day Spaghetti Lunch. The bond of service to our country brings together hundreds of neighbors and community residents who otherwise wouldn't have a chance to meet, but who all have commonality in their patriotism. Vietnam Veteran and CVI Entertainment Manager Stew Stewart coordinates the event and Stew personally greets almost every attendee whether current, former or family of military.
