DTS Fiber - Fiber Technician

The Fiber Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic internet services for DTS Fiber customers. This role requires hands-on technical work, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fiber optic internet services at residential and commercial customer locations
- Run, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling according to company and industry standards
- Install and configure customer equipment, including ONTs, routers, and related hardware
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs to resolve service issues
- Ensure all installations meet safety, quality, and performance requirements
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding installation process and service setup
- Coordinate with dispatch, customer service, and other technicians as needed
- Accurately document work completed, materials used, and service outcomes
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous fiber optic, telecommunications, or low-voltage experience preferred (training available)
- Ability to use hand tools, ladders, and testing equipment safely
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
