Description
The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra has performed at "Pops in the Park" in Genoa to capacity crowds for over 25 years, and could be a best kept secret up north in Reno. The Sierra Philharmonic League organizes the family friendly event with clowns, strolling musicians, along with silent and live auctions. Bring the family, a picnic and a blanket. The Philharmonic Orchestra with Associate Conductor Jason Altieri caps off the day performing at Mormon State Park at 4:30 p.m. Festivities begin at 1 PM and the main concert is at 4:30 PM. Pops in the Park is the major fundraising event produced by the Sierra Philharmonic League. Proceeds from this event help support the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and the three Youth Orchestras.
