EVENT DETAILS The TOCCATA–Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will conclude their 16th Season with a production of Handel’s Messiah. The TOCCATA production is a celebration of the holidays and includes not only favorite selections from Messiah Parts One and Three but also seasonal carols that the audience will be most welcome to join in singing. Messiah was first performed in Dublin, Ireland on March 23, 1742 and was conducted by its composer. It continues to be a masterpiece that has left audiences in awe for 276 years. The Douglas County performance is Friday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville, 1480 Douglas Avenue. Vocal Soloists for this performance will include Joy Strotz, Ania Helwing, Anne Davidson, Nicole Cooley, sopranos; Amanda Price, Julie Rader, mezzo; Micheal Dewayne, Chris Nelson, tenors; Stuart Duke baritone; and Nick Haines, David Brock, Katie Cardoza, continuo. The TOCCATA Orchestra features Brian Fox and Jeff Lindhorst as Concertmasters; David Brock and Nick Haines as continuo; with William Cates and Joe Savage on Baroque (piccolo) trumpets. All performances will be conducted by Maestro James Rawie. To purchase tickets contact the Carson Valley Arts Council (CVAC) at 775-782-8207 or stop by the CVAC office at 1572 US Hwy 395, Minden, Monday to Friday 10 am to 1 pm. Tickets will also be available at the door 30 minutes prior to the concert. Before buying tickets, be sure to take note of Toccata’s COVID-19 vaccination and mask requirements (immediately below.) For attendance at our indoor concerts, TOCCATA now requires proof of vaccination against COVID-19. We accept photos of CDC vaccination cards, laminated copies of vaccination cards, and also a vaccination record certified by the CLEAR App on cell phones. Persons too young to be vaccinated may present a negative COVID-19 test result, with a test date within 10 days of the date of the Concert. We understand that many test results are delayed, and tests are sometimes hard to obtain. In addition, we request that masks be properly worn during these concerts. Concert attendees should note that some TOCCATA performers will not be wearing masks – but ALL TOCCATA Performers have been fully vaccinated. Thank you for understanding and adhering to this policy.
