It is FREE to fish the Derby! Pre-registration is required* to receive your session ticket. Raffle tickets are available for purchase for $2 ea or $6 for 10.*Cash Preferred* Special Event TShirts and Buttons will also be available for purchase at the event, as well as Food and Drinks. Please carry cash for easy transactions.

The 33rd Annual Douglas County Kids' Fishing Derby will take place on Saturday, June 6th, and Sunday, June 7th, 2026 at Lampe Park in Gardnerville. This FREE event welcomes ALL children ages 3 to 12 years old to catch up to two rainbow trout during 1 of 7 fishing sessions. PRE-Registration is REQUIRED, however, to receive your child's session ticket. Registration for the Kids' Fishing Derby will begin on Wednesday, April 1st and continue until 4PM on Friday, June 5th. Parents looking to sign up their kids can catch the KFD crew on each Saturday in April and May from 10AM to 1PM on the west side entrance of the Gardnerville Raley's Grocery Store. (1363 US Highway 395 N) Parents can also visit AJ's Stoves (1267 US Highway 395, Suite A -- Gardnerville) for in person registration throughout the week, Monday through Friday, from 9AM to 5PM. Raffle tickets for the event will be for sale at both locations for $2 ea or $6 for 10. All proceeds from the KFD Raffle directly benefit child anglers in the form of purchased fish, bait and tackle, special gate prizes, and more! Volunteers are needed in all areas of the event !
