Description
Our June 13th Historical Lecturer will be Jim Bonar on “The Lincoln Highway”. This highway, now 100 years in our history, was documented through photographs and journals by the Lincoln Highway Association. Please join Jim as he takes us in a nostalgic drive down the old rock road and experience the adventure of crossing the country on this highway in its youth. Jim has been a resident in the Reno area for some thirty years and is a retired high school teacher having taught locally at Sparks High. Jim spent five years of his youth in Green River, Wyoming, on the Lincoln Highway, and near the Oregon, California emigrant trail where he became interested in roads and their history. He later became a member of both the Lincoln Highway Assn. and the Oregon California Trails Assn. He has served at the president of the Nevada Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Assn. and is on the national board as the Nevada State Director. Admission is $3.00/ free to members.
