Food Drive Wednesdays in November

The Carson Valley Inn (Minden, NV) and Bodines Casino (Carson City, NV) are combining their resources to collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items on Wednesdays in November in preparation for the Share Your Christmas Community Food Drive on December 10. 

According to Carson Valley Inn General Manager Steve Chappell, "The concept is very simple.  Every Wednesday in November we'll be offering $1 in free play for each canned or non-perishable food item donated – up to $5 free play per person.  Naturally, you'll have to be a member of our INN Club to use your free play. All food collected will be presented on behalf of our customers to the Carson Valley Food Closet during the Share Your Christmas Community Food Drive on Friday, December 10.  Since the Carson Valley location for this annual event is at the entrance to the Carson Valley RV Resort, it won't be a long trip!"

Steve Forester, General Manager of Bodines, added, "All food collected at Bodines during November will be donated to the Carson City-based Advocates to End Domestic Violence.  We'll be doing a special presentation around 5 p.m. on December 10 at the Carson City location for the Share Your Christmas Food Drive at the Governor's Mansion. A lot of our customers also play at the CVI, and we encourage our players' club members to donate food – and receive free slot play – at both locations each Wednesday!"

Canned goods and other non-perishable items can be donated every Wednesday in November by bringing them to the Cabaret Lounge at the Carson Valley Inn or the Sports Book Lounge at Bodines. 

The Carson Valley Inn (www.carsonvalleyinn.com) is located on US Highway 395 in Minden, NV near the start of State Highway 88, twenty minutes from Lake Tahoe's south shore and 45 minutes south of Reno.  The property includes a recently-remodeled casino, 152-room hotel, 74-room motor lodge, 59-site RV Park and a convenience store with Shell gas and diesel fuel.  There are also three dining facilities including CV Steak, the Inn's new Nevada-style steakhouse featuring steaks, seafood, pasta dishes and more.

Bodines (www.bodinescarson.com) is located on Highway 395 and Old Clear Creek Road in Carson City, just south of Hwy 50 at the Spooner Summit turnoff.  The two-year-old 30,000 square foot casino includes almost 300 slot and video poker machines, a restaurant featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner, two specialty bars - the ultra-hip Round Bar and the Sports Bar, and acres of lighted parking including a subterranean parking garage.
