Description
*Steve Hale will portray Major General John C. Fremont - pathfinder, and discoverer of Lake Tahoe. *John C. Fremont played a role in nearly every pivotal American political and military event of the mid-19th Century. Fremont was a pioneering Western explorer, millionaire gold baron, premature emancipator, Major General of Union Forces in the Civil War, California Senator, Governor of the Arizona Territory, and the United States' first Republican Presidential candidate. * Fremont's famous survey maps and journals, detailing his five pioneering Western expeditions into the vast unknown western wilderness, mapped the paths over which thousands of immigrants, and later the Gold Rush 498'ers, labored westward seeking new lives and opportunity.
