Description

On the second Wednesday of each month, the Chamber hosts a traditional small networking event called Chamber Coffee. The February Chamber Coffee will be hosted by Genoa Lakes Golf Club.

A short presentation on a business topic starts the session, followed by brief updates from the attendees on who they are and what they’ve got going on. A continental breakfast (and every now and then, a full breakfast) and free raffle is included in the $5 cost to Members.

1) Breakfast or Lunch for Two at the local legend, Cracker Box
​​​"The Box" opened its doors on May 10th, 1980 and has been perking along ever since. Over the last 35 years owner Jerry Massad has kept one thing in mind; serve the best breakfast around. The Box has done just that, and is still doing it every day, lunch too. Coming from a long line of restaurateurs, Jerry wouldn’t have it any other way. The place was a lot smaller back in 1980, seating just 24 people. Jerry cooked and there was just one waitress. The place is bigger now, but the quality remains the same. The Cracker Box employees pride themselves on serving piping hot, hearty, and made from scratch breakfasts and lunches seven days a week. The Box makes its own sausage gravy, cures its own corned beef and hand dips the chicken fried steaks. Plus all soups and salad dressings are made in house, from scratch. And, don’t forget the “Soon to be Famous” home-style spuds and squeezed to order juices.

Voted Best in the West by readers of AAA’s Via Magazine, the Cracker Box is always at the top of the “Best of” lists. Locals regularly vote it the “Best Breakfast in Carson City” and Trip Advisor users have honored the diner two years running with a Certificate of Excellence Award.  Since opening, The Cracker Box and its staff, have also been active in the community, regularly sponsoring, supporting and donating to numerous local charities and causes.

2) Golf for Two at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club ($180 value in season)
Luxury and performance are the name of the game on the Lakes Course. Co-designed by PGA Champion Peter Jacobsen and John Harbottle III, this links-style course with rolling fairways meets head-on with the eastern slopes of the breathtaking Sierra Nevada Mountains. Lush wetlands and the winding Carson River bring water into 14 holes of play, making long, straight drives the order of the day. Home to the U.S. Open Qualifier.
