DESCRIPTION:Youth and their families will experience both the history of the Pony Express and learn about its role today during the annual re-ride in June\, between St. Joseph\, Missouri and Sacramento\, California. Participants will witness mochila mail exchanges by horseback\, hear a Chautauqua by rider Warren Upson who was a rider at Lake Tahoe and in Carson Valley\, work with ham radio operators to learn how they assist the riders today\, partake in a photo booth\, go on a scavenger hunt\, and enjoy craft activities.
