The SBA Nevada District\, alongside the Nevada Women's Business Center will present a series of workshops on the different SBA contracting certifications. First up in the series\, we will present 8(a) Business Development Certification. This nine-year business development program allows your socially and economically disadvantaged business to compete with limited competition within the Federal contracting arena. \n\n \n\nThe workshop will discuss:\n\n	eligibility criteria\;\n	the program benefits for participants\; and \n	the application process\;\n	Women's Business Center services- providing FREE business education\, training\, and support to help you succeed in business.\n\n \n\n8(a) Certification Advantages:\n\n \n\n	The federal government has a yearly goal of awarding 5% of all dollars for federal prime contracts to 8(a) firms.\n	Participants in the 8(a) Business Development program can receive sole source contracts up to $4.5 million for goods and services and $7 million for manufacturing.\n	Certified 8(a) participants remain in the 8(a) BD for nine years if the participant stays in compliance and meet all requirements.
