DESCRIPTION:Three generations of children grew up at the Dangberg Home Ranch\, and the park's collection of artifacts includes many of their playthings\, with items from 1860 through the 1940s. Mr. Jensen's presentation will discuss some of these toys and games\, the childhoods of the individuals who used them\, the background history of the artifacts\, and how they illustrate changes in the cultural perspectives on children and play.\n\n\n\nMark Jensen is the Curator of the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park. His professional career includes positions as archivist for the University of Utah\, the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games\, and curator at the Alf Engen Ski Museum near Park City\, Utah. Subsequent consulting work included cataloging the collection of the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park\, and he returned to Nevada in April 2008 to oversee the park's interpretive programs and manage its artifact collection. He is a Certified Archivist and has an M.A. in American History from the University of Utah.
