DESCRIPTION:The Carson City School District is hosting the annual Career & Technical Education (CTE) Career Expo at Carson High School February 28\, 2018.  This event will allow nearly 500 or more 8th\, 9th\,10th\, 11th\,& 12th grade students from Carson High and middle schools plus their parents the opportunity to learn about high demand college and career opportunities\, becoming "career aware" before making critical decisions about high school. For juniors and seniors\, it is the opportunity to learn about careers and local employers.\n\nAs an important member of your professional community\,\n\nwe invite you to host a booth this year!\n\nDuring the Career Expo\, students and their parents will have the opportunity to visit CTE programs\, connect with post-secondary training and education providers as well as potential employers at the end of various career paths:\n\n \n\nWe Need YOU!\n\nThe Expo will feature 100 industry booths representing the diversity of companies and opportunities in our community.  We invite you to host a booth (at no cost) and engage students and their parents in an open conversation about your business and the skills/abilities needed for success. \n\nWe ask that you host a table for the 2-hour event\, with the following guidelines:\n\n	Dress in your occupational standard attire\n	Focus on a specific career pathway within your profession \n	Bring a demonstration\, example and/or activity to actively engage students\n	Highlight the necessary skills\, products\, or applications of the career focus\n	Hand out something representing your business that will spark a conversation at home \n	Engage and educate the students\n\nCareer Expo Schedule\n\nWednesday   February 28\, 2018\n\nSet-up will begin at 5:30 pm*\n\nEvent   6:00pm to 8:00pm\n\n*Students will be available to help with set up and breakdown\n\n \n\nThis is a critical event for the workforce development pipeline in our community! \n\nYour participation will impact the academic choices students are making at a pivotal time in their education   that will impact their college and career path for the future.\n\n \n\nPlease e-mail rjkale@charter.net for more information and the registration form.
