DESCRIPTION:Author Robin Holabird to speak on Nevada screen icons \n\nat Dangberg Historic Park\n\nMINDEN\, Nev.  Author Robin Holabird will present "Elvis\, Marilyn and the Space Aliens: Nevada Screen Icons" in a free presentation at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday\,\n\nAugust 11\, at 10:00 am.\n\nRobin Holabird's book about Nevada films Elvis\, Marilyn and the Space Aliens was published by UN Press in 2017. Holabird honed her writing skills with a degree in Journalism from Humboldt State University and reporting stints at KOLO\, the Sparks Tribune and other media outlets. \n\nShe earned certification and a master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Nevada-Reno\, and worked in public relations for the Washoe County School District before spending more than 20 years directing the Reno-Tahoe Branch of the Nevada Film Office. During this time\, Holabird worked on hundreds of projects dealing with Clint Eastwood\, Taylor Hackford\, PT Anderson and other directors.  These projects included "Love Ranch\," "Sister Act" and "CSI." \n\nRobin Holabird has reviewed movies in the Reno area since 1976 and her weekly program airs on KUNR at 88.7 FM every Friday morning at 5:30 am and 7:30 am.\n\n "We are very excited to welcome Robin Holabird to the park.  The audience will certainly enjoy Robin sharing her experiences in the film industry relating to Nevada film sites\," said the park's events manager\, Kim Harris.\n\nThis event is part of the park's Dangberg Summer Festival and is sponsored by Douglas County\, Carson Valley Accounting\, Full Circle Soils & Compost\, Horse Tales Publications and the Frances C. and William P. Smallwood Foundation. \n\nThe full Dangberg Summer Festival event schedule is available at dangberghomeranch.org.\n\nThe Dangberg ranch house will be open for one hour before the event for anyone who would like an introduction to the Dangberg family history and the park's artifact collection.\n\nThis is a free outdoor event.
