Jul 3    Tanya Tucker Live in Concert In TJ's Corral at the Carson Valley Inn
Tanya Tucker Live in Concert Friday, July 3
In TJ's Corral at the Carson Valley Inn, Minden NV

Country singer/songwriter Tanya Tucker will appear live in concert on Friday, July 3 at 8 p.m. in TJ's Corral Outdoor Concert & Events Center at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden, NV.

In 1969, legendary CBS Records executive Billy Sherrill signed Tucker to the Columbia label. At first, he planned for her to sing "The Happiest Girl In the Whole USA." Just 13, though, she made the crucial decision to record a song she had heard on the Tonight Show. 1972's "Delta Dawn" became the first of a long string of hit records for Tucker and quickly cemented her position in the world of country music. "Delta Dawn" was the first of Tucker's singles to reach the charts in 1972, topping out at No. 6. Later that year, "Love's the Answer" broke the top ten. Tucker's efforts in 1972 earned her Top New Female Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music. In 1973, she scored her first no. 1 hit with "What's Your Mama's Name," which she followed up with back-to-back no. 1s "Blood Red and Goin' Down" and "Would you Lay with Me (In a Field of Stone)." By the end of the year, Tucker's stardom was well established.

In a storied 40 year career, she has produced 23 Top 40 albums and a string of 56 Top 40 singles, with 41 reaching the Top 10, 33 advancing to the Top 5, and 10 No. 1 hits. Along the way, she has provided some of the biggest country music hits of each decade. In addition, Tucker has had 23 Top 40 albums on the Country Album chart, is a nine-time Grammy nominee and the recipient of eight Gold and four Platinum albums.

Tickets for the July 3 Tanya Tucker concert in TJ's Corral are $39 and are available through the Carson Valley Inn website (www.carsonvalleyinn.com) or by calling 775-783-6606.
