Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA), Nevada Industry Excellence (NVIE), and Economic Development Authority Western Nevada (EDAWN) would like to welcome everyone to the 4th Annual Nevada Manufacturers Conference. We are happy to present you with two days of exciting speakers covering a wide range of important industry topics. This year's event has been expanded to include a separate conference dedicated to the growing Unmanned Aircraft Systems/Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAS/UAV) industry in Nevada. In addition to the Manufacturers conference and the UAS/UAV conference be sure to stop by the Rose Ballroom inside the Nugget and check out dozens of exciting exhibit booths. We have a wide range of manufacturers and their goods and services providers on hand. One of the highlighted exhibit booths is the Challenger Learning Center, where participants can experience simulated space exploration in a digital dome planetarium, sponsored by NASA. In addition to the Challenger exhibit, Drone America will be displaying one of their drones. The University of Nevada, Reno's Engineering department will have a special display as well. The hostess has arranged all sorts of amusing "incidents". Secrets abound in the creepy old mansion. When an actual murder takes place, each of the "guests" realizes he or she is marked for death. The outraged hostess offers an immense reward to the "detective" who brings the killer to justice.

Oct 9    Second Thursday Lecture Series ? Sherriff Tom Logan
Jackie Boor, great-granddaughter of Sheriff Tom Logan will speak on her book LOGAN: The Honorable Life and Scandalous Death of a Western Lawman. Sheriff Thomas Logan of Nye County was shot and killed while coming to the aid of a saloon matron in Manhattan, Nevada. The matron was being harassed by a drunken gambler inside. As Sheriff Logan attempted to eject the man from the saloon the man suddenly pulled out a gun and shot him five times. Although mortally wounded, he was able to subdue the suspect until a deputy arrived at the scene. Though the suspect was charged with murdering one of the most popular lawmen of the day, the accused was later acquitted of murder—an outcome that has been a topic of debate for more than a century and one that Jackie will examine in her presentation. Oct 10    Bingo - Knights of Columbus
Bingo Night on the 2nd and 4th Friday of Each Month.  Doors open at 6pm with a warm up game starting at 7pm.  The event is open to the public and cash prizes will be awarded.  Because of the cash awards, no one under the age of 21 can be admitted as required by the Nevada Gaming control Board.  The $21 Minimum package includes a 3-card warm-up, a 10-card play package, and a blackout/progressive card.  Additional cards may be purchased.  A progressive jackpot is available each night.  Complementary coffee and popcorn is available.  Nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, wine, bottled water, and soft drinks can be purchased.

A community effort to increase the awareness of hunger in Douglas County, raise funds and have a great meal. Join us for your choice of a tasty one-pot meal donated by more than 10 local restaurants. For a minimum donation you receive a commemorative handmade bow., all-you-can-eat one-pot meal of your choice, bread and a free drink. Community members of all ages have created beautiful handmade bowls as a visual reminder that hunger lurks in many houses in our community.

Oct 17     Family Support Council ~ Halloween Costume Patch - (2nd Annual)
The Costume Patch will provide 50 FREE new costumes to children of all ages in Douglas County as well as fun family activities. There will be games and activities for ages 2-100. Face painting, pumpkin painting and bobbing for apples.

Also, each child that receives a costume will get a FREE flashlight and can create their own trick or treat bag.

Space is limited to the first 50 children.

Please RSVP by calling the main office by October 3rd, with number of children attending, ages and a costume they would like. Child(ren) must be present to receive costume.

Tour guides will lead you through the cemetery as you step back in time, in search of real ghosts from Nevada’s history. Oct 24    BINGO - Knights of Columbus
Bingo Night on the 2nd and 4th Friday of Each Month.  Doors open at 6pm with a warm up game starting at 7pm.  The event is open to the public and cash prizes will be awarded.  Because of the cash awards, no one under the age of 21 can be admitted as required by the Nevada Gaming control Board.  The $21 Minimum package includes a 3-card warm-up, a 10-card play package, and a blackout/progressive card.  Additional cards may be purchased.  A progressive jackpot is available each night.  Complementary coffee and popcorn is available.  Nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, wine, bottled water, and soft drinks can be purchased. 

Each year the council selects up to 5 Bingo's to raise money for Carson Valley community service organizations.
