Description
The Civilian Conservation Corp was probably the most popular of all of FDR’s New Deal programs. In less than 3 months from the time it was created, a quarter of a million young men and 1,463 camps were put to work improving public lands. Over the next 8 years, over three million young men-built roads and trails, fought fires, constructed buildings, improved grazing lands, and worked on thousands of other public works projects…while providing much need financial relief to their families. Nevada enjoyed more work from the CCC (on a per capita basis) than any other state, and their legacy in the Silver State has left a lasting impact still present today.
