The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is once again honored to be taking part in the Carson Valley Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run on May 31, 2019 beginning at Heritage Park at 9:00 a.m. The "Flame of Hope" torch for Special Olympics will be carried by our local law enforcement officers and Northern Nevada Special Olympics athletes.
The route will be as follows:
Athletes will arrive at 9 a.m. at Heritage Park and will run down 395 toward the Douglas County Sheriff’s
Office. We estimate arriving at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office between 9:55 a.m.- 10:15 a.m. Residents should also expect some short travel delays during this time frame.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to please come out and support our Northern Nevada Special Olympic Athletes as they travel North down U.S. Highway 395 with their family, Law Enforcement and other support by their side. We would like help from the community lining both sides of the highway along the length of the run route.
